Aspen!
On my way to Albuquerque, I made an impromptu visit to Aspen to enjoy lunch with these lovely people! Looking at this picture, I worry the Aspen altitude may have really gotten to me, because I remember everyone looking much pinker than they do in this picture.
A double rainbow to erupt from the sky! (I couldn't get a great pic of the double, but it looked real cool in person.)
After a delicious lunch (which I forgot to take pictures of, but was a super tasty fried chicken sandwich, chips and guacamole, fries, and a Snickerdoodle) we took a walk around Aspen! This building is called the Red Onion! I would have called it the Red Building, so as not to confuse hungry tourists, but then I suppose that's why I'm not an architect.
After I bid my farewells, it was time to head to Albuquerque! I stopped off at the continental divide to take this picture, and 1000 others that don't look as good as this!
I pulled Ansuz! Ironic because when I pulled it I completely lost my breath! Because of the altitude! And it's the rune for breath! Well, enough of my witty observations that are very entertaining.
I got takeout from a place called Rosemary in Albuquerque. It was real good, but suffered from being take out. This was jicama chips with eggplant and guac. Very good, would get again.
A somewhat whack bean burger. It might have been better in the restaurant, bit it was lame. I mean, I'd eat it again, but probably not order it.
And a cute little Hilton cookie for desert. it paled in comparison to the Snickerdoodle I had earlier in the day, so I complained to the front desk! JK JK JK! (That said, some guy laid into the front desk folks when I was checking in, and as someone who has worked guest services for years, please don't be a screaming jack ass when someone is giving you what you want, it's a bad look.)
Up next: Big Old Hole!
